1966 - Speaking to the London Evening Standard, John Lennon remarked that the Beatles “are probably bigger than Jesus.” The controversial comment resulted in a harsh backlash that saw some fans burning all of their Beatle memorabilia.

1970 - Janis Joplin was fined $200 after using obscene language at a Tampa, Florida concert.

1976 - Hall & Oates recorded their classic song, “Rich Girl.”

1986 - Pianist Richard Manuel of The Band took his own life at the age of 41.
