1970 - Eric Clapton's band Derek and The Dominoes made their live debut in the UK.
1970 - Grand Funk Railroad shelled out $100,000 for a block long billboard in New York's Times Square to promote their Closer to Home album.
1970 - The Grateful Dead released their album Workingman's Dead.
1971 - The first Hard Rock Cafe opened in London.
1980 - "Roadie," a movie starring Meat Loaf as Travis W. Redfish, made its debut.
1982 - The Pretenders fired Pete Farndon.
