1951 - Little Richard sat down for his first recording session in Atlanta, Georgia.
1954 - Elvis Presley first hit radio with an appearance on the "Louisiana Hayride."
1956 - Elvis Presleys film Love Me Tender premiered.
1966 - Joan Baez was arrested along with 123 other anti-draft demonstrators. The group was blocking the door to the Armed Forces Induction Center in Oakland, California.
1971 - Isaac Hayes' Theme From Shaft was released.
1972 - Creedence Clearwater Revival released a statement announcing their break up.
1976 - Stevie Wonder released Songs in the Key of Life.
1982 - Daryl Hall and John Oates released H2O.
1989 Prince released the single "The Arms Of Orion."
1992 - At a concert honoring Bob Dylan at New Yorks Madison Square Garden, Sinead O'Connor was booed off stage. The crowd's response was in reaction to her controversial appearance on Saturday Night Live, when the singer tore up a photo of Pope John Paul II.
