McCartney Tour Begins In Hamburg

Paul McCartney's Good Evening Europe tour kicked off this week with a show in Hamburg, Germany. The night brought the Beatle bassist back to the town where he got his start nearly 50 years earlier.

"Starting the tour here was actually suggested to me by my promoter," McCartney told the Telegraph. "I like the idea of going back to a city that I have such fond memories of. This is my chance to bring our current show home to where it all began."

The Beatles paid their dues in the city prior in the early days of the band before enlisting Ringo Starr on drums. McCartney, along with John Lennon and George Harrison, played in the city's red light district in the early 1960s.

McCartney rocked audiences at the tour stop in Hamburg, playing a wide array of Beatles staples like "Eleanor Rigby," "Let It Be" and "Hey Jude."
