Rodgers Reconsidering Queen Singer Role
Almost a year after calling an end to his collaboration with Queen, singer Paul Rodgers has said that he's open to the idea of teaming up with the legendary band again, according to The Pulse of Radio.
Rodgers served as the group's vocalist for a five-year period, but stepped down in May of last year. The partnership, which came to be known as Queen + Paul Rodgers, issued an album, The Cosmos Rocks, in 2008.
Fans expecting the group to tour behind the effort were left wanting when Rodgers made the surprise move in leaving the group.
Rodgers, however, maintains that there was no bad blood behind the split. "It did kind of escalate a little bit, and it was a lot of fun I really, really enjoyed it," he said.
"But I did turn around and I looked at how much time... I said, 'Whoa, I've been with these guys for four years!' And I didn't want to lose my own sense of identity. I felt that I was being sucked into another entity which is a beautiful thing the thing that they do. So we've left it open. So, if there is some charity work or some shows like that to do, y'know, we could come back together and do that. That's how we've left it."
